Career from industrial computer scientist, entrepreneur, University lecturer, Business School activity head, Head of Research Institute, Professor to Head of all online and transnational activity at the University of Manchester. Now engaged in short term and part time Higher Education consultancy roles including interim Director of Keele Business School, international marketing and recruitment strategy development for several UK Business Schools and on-going supervisory work at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, UK.

Research interests focus on information systems, the use of data to inform strategic decision making, technology adoption and diffusion and rational decision making, strategic planning, marketing and digital marketing. My research is usually conducting using in depth qualitative approaches, occasionally informed using quantitative methods. A track record of gaining major grants from UK and European funding bodies. Single and multiple author publications in journals including Journal of Information Technology, European Journal of Information Systems and Information and Software Technology.

Expert in establishing new academic entities, creating collegiate teams and rapidly increasing revenue streams. Twenty five years experience of leading academic teams, developing and delivering transformative teaching, learning and research projects. Eleven years experience of autonomous P&L responsibility leading marketing, recruitment, programme design and development teams to deliver executive level credit and non-credit bearing programmes at scale in face to face, blended, online and transnational format. Consistently exceeded target generating in excess of £20m revenue p.a.

Wide Transnational Education (TNE) expertise and network including global regulatory and accreditation authorities. Formally line manager for the University of Manchester’s overseas centres in locations including the UAE, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami and Sao Paulo. c.50 staff overseas, c.50 staff in the UK. Lead for numerous national and international commercial and academic partnerships.

Immediate past interim role as Director of Keele Business School. Responsible for refocussing the School and growing the portfolio of programmes, developing international partnerships and strengthening the research, regional and business engagement profile. c.40 staff.
