Business Science Institute and Manchester Metropolitan University announce partnership for a double DBA degree

Business Science Institute, an international academic institution specialising in the delivery of the Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA), and Manchester Metropolitan University, a UK public university, announce the signing of a partnership to introduce a double DBA degree. The programme is designed for senior leaders, consultants, executives and entrepreneurs who wish to contribute to academic knowledge while generating operational impact within their organisations. This partnership represents an important stage in the continued development of Business Science Institute, following its integration into Groupe IGENSIA Education in 2025.

A double degree to enhance international recognition of the DBA

Accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and certified as a “Responsible Doctoral School” by IRAFPA (Switzerland), Business Science Institute has, for more than a decade, supported senior managers and executives undertaking doctoral research with organisational impact. The programme currently brings together 220 doctoral participants from 60 countries, supported by a network of more than 200 professors and 232 alumni.

This new partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University is founded on a clear principle: to preserve the academic standards and research model of Business Science Institute while enabling participants to obtain a UK-awarded Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA). Participants enrolled under this arrangement will receive two separate DBA awards: the DBA conferred by Business Science Institute and the DBA awarded by Manchester Metropolitan University. The programme design and academic framework of Business Science Institute remain unchanged.

Manchester Metropolitan University, as a UK public university, represents an important partner in supporting the continued international development of Business Science Institute, particularly in English-speaking and German-speaking markets where the DBA is well established within higher education systems.

Supporting international development

This partnership forms part of Business Science Institute’s broader international development strategy. It is intended to strengthen the visibility of the DBA in regions with growing demand, including the Middle East, Asia and German-speaking countries.

Consistent with its mission, Business Science Institute seeks to make the DBA accessible irrespective of geographical location or working language. The programme is currently delivered in French, English, German and Spanish, and is supported by an international academic network that continues to expand.

Beyond the award itself, Business Science Institute promotes a view of the DBA as a driver of individual and organisational transformation. According to recent graduate surveys, the programme contributes to professional advancement, the development of analytical and decision-making capabilities, and the evolution of managerial practices within organisations.

Through this collaboration, Business Science Institute and Manchester Metropolitan University intend to develop joint research initiatives. Several areas of shared interest have already been identified, including:

  • Human resource management and transformations in the world of work
  • Sustainability and organisational responsibility
  • Information overload
  • Organisational fatigue

These initiatives aim to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions and to generate research of relevance to organisations and decision-makers.

The agreement builds on existing academic collaborations developed by Business Science Institute, including its cooperation with ICN ARTEM BS and Université Paris-Saclay.
