
Dr. Alexander Teubner is Professor of Information and Digital Technology Management at the Institute for Information Systems at the University of Münster. He is Director of the Master’s program in Information Systems at the University of Münster, where he teaches Technology Management with a focus on “Managing Digital Business”. Alexander Teubner has extensive experience in both in-person and distance learning, both in basic university master’s programs and in executive education. He has held teaching assignments for I/DT Management at various German universities, was Professor (ad personam) of Information Management at a private Swiss distance learning university until 2016, and teaches IT/IS Management at the University of Münster Professional School.
As head of the Strategic Information Management research group, Dr. Teubner is actively involved in research at the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS). His group’s research focuses on IT/IS and cybersecurity strategy, strategy implementation and IT/IS investment planning, management of technochange programs, as well as sourcing and organization of corporate IT functions.
Prof. Dr. Teubner studied Economics in combination with Computer Science and Sociology of Technology at TU Dortmund. After completing his studies, he worked as a project manager for bifego, a research institute affiliated with TU Dortmund. He then moved to the Institute for Information Systems at the University of Münster. Here he completed his doctorate on the topic of Integrated Organization and Information System Development and his habilitation on IT/IS Strategies. Dr. Teubner served for many years as a member of the advisory board and temporarily, during the acquisition of venture capital, also as interim managing director of a digital image processing company.
