Amadou Moctar Sidy Diaw
Amadou Moctar Sidy Diaw graduated from the University of Technology of Compiègne, France with a degree in Electro-mechanics and Robotics, and holds an MBA from the University of Paris Dauphine. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Executive Business Administration at the Business Science Institute and IAE Lyon. He works on the development of Green Finance in developing countries.
Mr. Diaw has over 30 years of professional experience in the fields of industrial manufacturing, energy, quality management, environment and security.
An expert in systems of operational management, he has worked in several multinational French- and English-speaking companies. On several occasions, he participated in the creation of industrial units and improved production performance by obtaining international reference labels such as the "CE" (European Community) product certification, the ISO 9001 certification and ISO 14001 certification.
Mr. Diaw is an environmentalist and deeply believes in Corporate Social Responsibility as the foundation of the success of a modern company.
He contributed to the certification of the Mécanisme de Développement Propre [Clean Development Mechanism] at the level of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the first project of the West African sub-region that worked for the recovery of biomass energy in cement plants from Jatropha plantations.
He is Vice-President of the National Committee for Climate Change of Senegal, where he leads the working group on Finance and Market Mechanisms.
Mr. Diaw is currently the Environment Quality Manager of SOCOCIM Industries and is also involved in the development of alternative fuels in cement works. He previously held the position of Plant Manager for 7 years.
He is fluent in English and has an understanding of Spanish and Arabic, which he can read and write at a proficient level.
