Martin Cloutier, holds a doctorate in Strategic Management and Applied Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a full professor in the Department of Management and Technology at ESG UQAM. In the context of his research, his interests include: technology assimilation, technologies of decision support, and decision-making in groups; research methods in general as well as mixed methods; and approaches to the science of design. He has published some thirty scientific papers, many focusing on solving systemic problems in complex situations and using the principles of systems dynamics or group concept mapping. Professor Cloutier has initiated or conducted some twenty mapping projects in Canada and Europe (France, Germany, Luxembourg) in various fields, including entrepreneurship, technology start-ups, technology use, continuous improvement, the development of technology markets, bioeconomy, and the economic value of health.
