A new Executive DBA Program in Dakar
In partnership with the CESAG, in January of 2016 a new Business Science Institute Executive DBA program opened its doors in Dakar!
The 3rd graduating class of the Business Science Institute Executive DBA in Dakar is composed of 10 students, whose average age is 47 years. The youngest of the group is 34 years old and the oldest 62 years old.
Originating from Mali, Togo, Benin, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritius and Niger, these new doctoral students are executives with very diverse career profiles and active in totally different professional domains (public management, health, insurance, international organisation, transportation, education, and banking) but all are motivated by the same objectives: to pursue a rigorous program under the direction of professors coming from prestigious universities and business schools and to write a thesis and produce knowledge based on their experience, all the while continuing their professional activities.
The first 4-day seminar, dedicated to managing the thesis, was organised by professor Michel Kalika, Scientific Council of the Business Science Institute (IAE Lyon), Paul Beaulieu (UQAM), Fatou Diop Sall (UCAD, Dakar), Mouhamed El Bachir Wade (UCAD, Dakar) and Birahim Gueye (Gaston Berger University in Saint Louis, Senegal).
During the seminar, the new doctoral students had the opportunity to consult with 16 senior doctoral students from previous years, both face to face and via videoconferencing.
For Michel Kalika this new graduating class clearly demonstrates the willingness of managers to create knowledge from their experience and pass it on as a publication.
